Defensive

Ever wonder why us Ron Paul supporters might come across a little defensive? Watch this:

When the media likes of Glen Beck, Bill O'Reilly, Rush Limbaugh or Shaun Hannity pose you up to be a form of a domestic terrorist, I go ahead and say it's time to defend your position.

But of course, Glenn Beck would have such a man incarcerated for such a statement. He’s abviously aligned with Ron Paul and the Islamo-Fascists.

*Disclaimer* I don't have my candidate selected yet. I've enjoyed
listening to the debates and following the coverage of the race, most
of the time. T and I have been talking, as of late, regarding Ron
Paul so I think he'll know that these comments are not on the "attack"
but really my general interest in discussing/debating. Let me make it
clear...I don't have a side. So with that said...

First and foremost, I don't like seeing anyone calling anyone a
terrorist when they are not the blatant type of terrorist. We love to
throw that word around a little too much these days. So, T, yes it's
unfortunate that people are getting a little 'dirty' out there and
that people like Glen Beck have segments such as the one you posted.

But here are some of the things that come to mind...which came first
the chicken or the egg? From this statement I mean, which came first:
Ron Paul supporters were attacked therefore they are fighting back and
thus their "enthusiasm" OR that they were enthusiastic to begin with,
thus the attacks on Ron Paul? I don't have an answer to that question
but it's interesting to think about.

I seem to think that the thing that makes Ron Paul campaign so
interesting, aside from his political views, has been his following.
Everyone, even the supporters themselves, see themselves as an "army".
It's amazing and inspirational the way they have rallied together.
They are using all sorts of means at their disposal. Good for them.
One of the well discussed aspects of the Paul campaign has been their
use of the internet. Many political bloggers/editorials have been
bombarded with Paul "diggs" over the months and recently they are
starting to get ticked off and singling out the Paul supporters..even
going to far as to ban them for their blogs. See this article as one
reference just from last
week...http://www.americanthinker.com/2007/11/is_ron_paul_pandering_to_the_p.html
(again I don't completely agree with how this guy goes about his
message but it points out how bloggers are sick and tired of
"Paulbots")
I can't but help think that the enthusiasm with which the Paul fans
have rallied also has a downside...that it brings all kinds of
attention to them. Therefore, Americans are rallying back.

But whichever came first...it's gotten ugly. And on both sides. And
the only way to stop it from getting ugly is for both sides to pull it
down a notch. I don't know...just a thought. PS...Congratulations
Paul fans for raising $4 Mil in one day...over the internet. No
matter who you root for, that is an awesome accomplishment!
